The student has been participating in a marching band and playing brass instruments for many years. During the pandemic, they participated in online competitions with their affiliated band and achieved excellent results. They were then invited to the United States to participate in the World Marching Band Association's 2023 World Championships and placed third.
During this competition I had the opportunity to interact with orchestras from all over the world. It changed my previous impressions of bands from different countries and made me realize the importance of cultural exchange. This competition also allowed me to gain valuable experience in teamwork. In a band, everyone's contribution, communication, and trust in each other are crucial. Through countless rehearsals and performances, I learned to actively listen, adapt, and coordinate with others. These skills not only enhance our musical abilities but also help me deal with interpersonal relationships and collaborate with others in other aspects of life. After the journey ended, I returned to Hong Kong with a renewed sense of purpose to continue my musical journey and embrace new opportunities for personal and artistic growth.
