About College
Shaw College, the fourth constituent college of CUHK, was founded in 1986 with the generous support from the Shaw Foundation (Hong Kong) Limited to promote the cultivation of virtue and the pursuit of knowledge.
Scholarship and Financial Aid
Shaw College presented various academic and non-academic scholarships, financial assistance, subsidy schemes on short-term overseas academic programmes and community service projects. Various admission scholarships would be offered to freshmen with excellent admission results, special skills or talents, financial need, etc.

General Education
General education is an important part of undergraduate education. It aims to broaden students’ horizon and contribute to the holistic development of students to become responsible citizens. Throughout the undergraduate years, a collegiate environment is provided to promote interaction among students and teachers from different disciplines and cultural backgrounds.
Four Signature Student Activities
Shaw College is committed to supporting and encouraging students to organize extracurricular activities. Every year, students initiated the formation of organizing committees of student activities. Among them, there are four annual activities which are commonly known as “The Four Signature Activities” including the Orientation Camp, Shaw Lane, the Founder’s Day Celebration and Shaw Sing.
Student Union and Student Bodies
Shaw College Student Union was established in 1990. The Union consists of the Representative Council, Judicial Council, Executive Committee, Shaw Beat and Non-Residential Hall, Resident Association of Kuo Mou Hall and Resident Association of Student Hostel II. There are departmental societies and clubs under the Student Union.
Hostels and Facilities
Shaw College has two student hostels, Kou Mou Hall and Student Hostel II. Communal facilities such as Fitness Room, Music Room, Dancing Room, Indoor Multi-purpose Sports Hall, Multi-Purpose Activity Room, Huen Wing Ming Building Multi-Purpose Learning Centre, etc. are provided.
