Ms Ada Hung, School of Chinese Medicine, was appointed as warden of Student Hostel II for a term of office from 29 August 2025 to 15 January 2027.

Ms Ada Hung, an alumna of Shaw College, took up the position of Warden of Student Hostel II (SH II) this August. She was a resident student in SH II during her undergraduate studies, and had been serving as a hall tutor in SH II since 2019. Ms Hung has a deep affection for the College. Her experience as a resident student gave her a profound understanding of hostel life. She has maintained close communication with resident students over the years and is committed to giving back to the place which accompanied her growth.

After graduation, Ms Hung returned to SH II as a hall tutor, working with other hall tutors and wardens in the old days to serve resident students. To Ms Hung, it is like a destiny to be able to live and serve in the same space with three different identities as resident student, hall tutor, and warden. Initially, she simply enjoyed hostel life, but later became a bridge of communication between resident students and wardens. With the encouragement and support of the former warden, she began to think about shouldering more responsibilities. She finally decided to accept the challenge and took up the role of warden with greater obligations. The most challenging would lie in listening to and balancing the opinions and needs of various stakeholders to reach consensus and drive the continuous improvement of the student hostel.

Ms Hung believes that challenges of every day would be an opportunity for growth. She looks forward to learning and progressing together with resident students. Student hostel is a place where students from diverse backgrounds get along with, some prefer a lively atmosphere while others prefer tranquility. She hopes that everyone will respect and understand each other, seeking harmony amidst differences, and making SH II an ideal home that truly embodies "harmony in diversity" and "colourful college life".
