The student possesses rich experience in film production, with several of her past works having been nominated in different international film festivals and achieved excellent results. Through the production of a short film titled "The Photography Club," she is once again participating in different international film festivals, laying the foundation for her future aspiration to become an outstanding film director.
The teachers in the School of Journalism and Communication always say," When it comes to the actual shooting, the only thing you're doing is problem solving.” All the fancy ideas, artistic pursuits, and grand plans often get thrown out the window once the cameras start rolling.
Ever since I had the idea for this script, I've been obsessing over this project every single day. But being an independent filmmaker means drowning in a sea of never-ending tasks. I've come to realize that if it was just a spur-of-the moment decision, there's no way I could have finished this shoot.
Through this whole process, I have gained a deeper understanding of what each role entails. So, the next time I make a film, I'll have a clearer idea of what to expect from each department. This time, our pre-production was a bit and we did not have much time to experiment and explore. Although everything turned out pretty close to what I had envisioned, there are areas we could have improved. So, for the next shoot, I really hope we'll have more time to prepare, allowing each department to inject their own ideas and aesthetics into the project instead of depending on my instructions alone.
