Nowadays, Hong Kong citizens lack understanding towards children with intellectual disabilities, some even have discrimination towards them. We organized a variety of activities, including home visit, picnic, Easter party and visiting the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Through these activities, we hope to promote the social integration. On the other hand, we wish to show love and care towards them, and create happy memories together.
After organizing a series of activities and cooperating with the organization, we understand more about the needs of our service target and learn how to communicate with them. Besides, we discover that they have many good qualities that we should learn from. Furthermore, we obtain a deeper understanding towards the challenges that our service targets are facing, so as to reflect on what kinds of support the society can provide to the group.
