Building on last year's accessible tourism project in Pingtung, our team has expanded its reach this year to remote indigenous communities. While deeply respecting traditional culture, this project enriches the lives of indigenous elders, empowering them to defy age stereotypes and discover their individual value.
Engaging with the indigenous elderly community in Luofu, Taoyuan, allowed us to develop a deep sense of patience, respect, and empathy through active listening. Hearing the elders recount stories of their families, cultural traditions, and youth—with eyes full of life—offered us invaluable life wisdom. Their overwhelming hospitality and enthusiastic engagement underscored a profound need for emotional connection and social validation. This experience fostered significant personal growth, prompting me to reflect on my own family dynamics and to cherish more deeply the time spent with my parents and elders.
